Hello!!

Welcome to the homepage of Japanese Society of Zoo and Wildlife Medicine Student Section.
This homepage is made to send out Japanese student's activity, and expand network of student interested in wildlife.

Greeting

My name is Satoshi Ishikawa. I'm a president of Japanese Societyishikawa of Zoo and Wildlife Medicine(JSZWM) Student Section.

Many japanese students are interested in wildlife. However, a lot of universities do not have systematic wildlife classes or Laboratories in whitch students can study them. The main way japanese students learn about wildlife is therefore through participating work at zoos as interns, do volunteer work at wildlife rehabilitation centers, or jpin field researches as rheir part-time jobs. Many students learn about wildlife in diverse ways.

The Student Section of JSZWM was established at the Annual Congress of JSZWM in 2001. The Student Section currently has 16 branch divisions at 15 colleges of veterinary medicine and one department of animal science. These divisions convene study sessions and lectures by professionals in wildlife biology and wildlife medicine.

We mainly exchange information and opinions with other university students using our mailing list system. At the Annual Congress of JSZWM, students from all over Japan gather and hold workshops and parties.

The purpose of this association is to construct relationships among students interested in wildlife and share knowledge and ideas on issues and efforts regarding conservation. It is our goal that, through such relationships, each student will develop his or her own perspective on how to connect with wildlife and become involved in wildlife activities. We hope that the Student Section will inspire interest in the concerbation and management of wildlife among students in all fields of study.

Will you make one of us?
